We meet in Lima at our accommodation this afternoon at 4pm for a workshop and further information. Dinner and accommodation is included tonight. The adventure has begun...

DAY 2 - LIMA TO PISCO (PARACAS RESERVE)

September 2

We will depart early and head south in our exclusive mini-bus. Today’s drive will include opportunistic stops and allow us to target a very unique region of Peru, particularly the Paracas Reserve near the fishing town of Pisco. This area is renowned for its rugged wilderness, offering opportunities to observe marine mammals, birds, and diverse sea life. We will explore the reserve as well as the seaside town, which provides unique cultural and storytelling opportunities. It’s truly amazing to witness the desert landscape leading right up to the shores of the Pacific Ocean.

DAY 3 - PARACAS RESERVE

September 3

Most of the day will be spent exploring the best of this region, including a boat tour. Despite its exceptionally arid climate, the Paracas Peninsula is home to a diverse array of flora and fauna, featuring an impressive collection of 74 plant species, 216 bird species, 16 mammal species, and ten reptile species. The nutrient-rich waters of the Paracas National Reserve support a thriving population of both land and marine life, including whales, orcas, dolphins, Humboldt penguins, as well as leatherback and hawksbill turtles, all contributing to the region’s rich biodiversity.

In the late afternoon, we will drive to Nazca. Overnight at the hotel. (B, L, D)
