DAY 1 - WRANGELL
July 28
We will begin our journey with a transfer from our hotel in Wrangell (Julia will recommend a pre-tour hotel for your stay in Wrangell; please note that pre-tour accommodation is not included. However, today’s transfer is provided). Your WPA guide will reconfirm the schedule the night before.
This morning, we will board the Delphinus II, signalling the start of our adventure! Upon boarding the Delphinus II, we will meet our skipper and crew and receive an orientation. Then, we will set off into the stunning wilderness of Alaska, where we may encounter orcas and other whales during our journey!
Our itinerary is designed to be flexible so we can take advantage of the latest updates on the region’s best wildlife sightings. For our first dinner, we will have the unique experience of dining with just our small group in a secluded bay, immersed in true Alaskan wilderness.
From the very first day, you can expect to see an abundance of wildlife, including humpback whales, black and brown bears, river otters, harbor seals, porcupines, and flocks of scoters and various other bird species. Be sure to be on deck to help spot Alaska’s incredible wildlife! (L,D)
