Join Darran Leal and special guest photographer Julieanne Kost for an incredible journey combining spectacular aerial photography, landscapes, wildlife, nature and creative photography workshops.

Beginning in Perth, we travel north through the Pinnacles, Hutt Lagoon and Kalbarri, before continuing into Shark Bay for five days of photography and workshops.

The Shark Bay experience includes four doors-off plane photography flights, giving us incredible opportunities to photograph the colours, coastlines, patterns and landscapes of this remarkable region from above. Optional helicopter photography flights are also available at additional cost.

From dramatic Western Australian landscapes and pink lagoons to turquoise coastlines, wildlife and creative aerial photography, this is a highly diverse photographic adventure designed around one thing: your photography.

The itinerary specifically includes the Pinnacles, Hutt Lagoon, Kalbarri, four Shark Bay flights, nature photography and regular workshops.

This adventure combines some of Western Australia’s most distinctive landscapes with wildlife, creative photography and four doors-off aerial photography flights over Shark Bay.

Beginning in Perth, we travel north through the Pinnacles, Hutt Lagoon and Kalbarri, photographing white sand dunes, surreal limestone formations, colourful lagoons, dramatic gorges and rugged coastline before continuing into Shark Bay.

In Shark Bay, the focus shifts to aerial photography, wildlife, beaches and creative workshops. Four doors-off plane photography flights are included, with optional helicopter flights available at additional cost. Only three photographers are on each flight, plus the pilot, helping maximise photographic opportunities.

The workshop also includes a half-day nature experience, with potential subjects including dolphins, birds of prey, emus and other local wildlife.

Throughout the journey, Darran Leal and Julieanne Kost will provide field tuition, creative guidance and image-processing workshops, helping photographers of all experience levels develop stronger images and explore new ideas.

DAY 1 - September 1 - PERTH TO CERVANTES (Pinnacles)

We depart today at 8am, driving in our exclusive mini bus from Perth to Cervantes and the famous Pinnacles, just 2 hours north. We arrive in time to explore the pinnacles and a field workshop. Late afternoon and evening Astro shoot (subject to weather) will be a highlight for this location. (Pre departure: suggested accommodation near Perth airport will be offered about 4-5 months before the event.) We are based at Cervantes for 2 nights.

DAY 2 - September 2 - CERVANTES

Full day exploring this incredible location including a sunrise shoot on the beautiful white sand dunes near the Pinnacles. We include another Pinnacles shoot. Each visit will challenge your creative skills. However, Darran and Julieanne will be available to help you with angles, concepts and encourage you to shoot beyond your current skills. We include a workshop to help you improve your processing skills.

DAY 3 - September 3 - CERVANTES TO HUTT LAGOON TO KALBARRI

We depart for a sunrise shoot, spending quality time at the pinnacles. An incredible landscape location that also offers colourful flowers at this time of the year. We then head north to our next location, the pink waters of Hutt Lagoon. (About 3.5 hour drive). We enjoy some fun creative shoots of this rare colourful location. Then we hit the road for our final leg today, less than an hour drive to Kalbarri. This region is a very different landscape location with rugged coastal scenes and of course the gorge itself. A long day is rewarded with a special sunset shoot over the Indian Ocean.

We are based at Kalbarri for 2 nights.

DAY 4 - September 4 - KALBARRI

We start before sunrise to photograph the famous Natures Window in Kalbarri National Park. Red cliffs, deep gorges and nature are our targets this morning. We include a workshop with creative guru Julieanne Kost. Julieanne will help all levels and help build your creative concepts and offer new tools. Another shoot at the coast. Cliffs, crashing waves, turquoise waters and nature all add up to new images. Again, sunset over the Indian Ocean - what a treat! Accommodation is included.
