Kick off your Alaskan adventure in the vibrant town of Anchorage. Meet at 3 PM today, join us for a welcoming reception followed by an enriching workshop led by your world class tutors, Darran Leal and Julieanne Kost. This will be followed by a delightful group dinner. (D)

DAY 2 - Anchorage to Alaskan Wilderness and our lodge...

July 19

We will depart Anchorage early this morning for our lodge. This flight is included in the tour package. Have your camera ready for fantastic aerial shoots!

Nestled in untouched wilderness, our rustic lodge is inaccessible by road and offers unparalleled beauty, serving as a prime location for stunning landscapes and remarkable bear encounters, especially with the renowned brown bears. Our group will be exclusively guided by Darran and a local expert guide. Be captivated by the anticipation of rare bear encounters as we traverse from the beach to the lodge. Keep your camera ready, as we may spot a bear on the beach! After a satisfying lunch, take the afternoon to explore the enchanting surroundings near our lodge with our experienced guides. Witness bears strolling through the meadows or along the beach flats, creating a mesmerizing experience in this unique corner of the world. Let the natural beauty and wildlife encounters enrich your memory cards with unforgettable images as you immerse yourself in this extraordinary destination.

DAYs 3/4/5/6 - Alaskan Wilderness

July 20/21/22/23

While you already have great images, you will enjoy another three full days immersing yourself in the enchanting wilderness, stunning snow-capped mountain scenes, and the majestic coastal brown bears. With each day promising new encounters and photographic opportunities, your WPA guides will ensure your photography sessions are optimised, while our local experts enhance your overall experience. Get ready for close-up encounters and the thrill of “walking with the bears,” a truly incomparable experience that has left previous tour participants in awe, with many rebooking without hesitation. Limited to just six guests plus your professional photo guide, you will embark on a typical day that starts with an early morning beach exploration after tea and coffee, observing bears in their various roles as scavengers, hunters, and browsers, depending on the tide.

After returning to the lodge for a hearty cooked breakfast, we will set out on our quad bike-pulled train, a unique mode of transport. We will stop at a safe distance to approach the bears slowly on foot, capturing unforgettable moments as we go. Lunch will be a delight, followed by an afternoon excursion to a new locale, where the meadows provide magical scenery for diverse photography opportunities, from flora to fauna, including cubs playing and interactions between mothers and their cubs, as well as stunning backdrops of flowers and snow-capped mountains. This location offers adventures like no other place on Earth! We also plan to include a boat trip to photograph puffins (subject to weather) and breathtaking coastal scenery, providing a contrast to the rest of the trip. Again, few locations can offer such close-up nature experiences. Each day promises to be exciting and rewarding! (B,L,D)
