Norway Photography Tour

Our itinerary is flexible with the skipper and Darran working to optimise your adventures and your comfort. We will search for unique landscapes, seascapes, Aurora and creatures like orcas, humpbacks and other whales in the protected surroundings of the Norwegian fjords. This is not an expedition to target just one thing, rather it is an expedition that will at time overall you with so many different and beautiful experiences and subjects to photograph. Make sure to spend lots of time out on deck and on the bridge, so you can take in the amazing scenery and watch for wildlife. Snorkeling is optional. Yes in the water, but with special wetsuits and training from our local expert master guides. Not interested to go in the water? The deck will offer you a magic platform, as will the option to be on a zodiac for more mobility. Two expert wildlife guides will accompany us on our expedition. They are constantly on the look-out for wildlife, whales and orcas. Whenever the conditions are right, they will give the sign to put on your warm clothes or drysuit while they lower the zodiacs in the water. These boats will allow us to explore, shoot new angles for landscapes, or bring you within a safe distance of the whales. Approaching whales will always be done cautiously, at a low speed towards the side of the pod. Our guides are specialists in whale behaviour and have experience in zodiac driving around orcas.

DAY 1 - TROMSØ

January 15

We include a night in Tromso at a lovely 4 Star hotel. A chance to meet the group and get ready for the adventures to come. How exciting! Meet at 5pm for information and the chance to ask questions. Dinner and first drinks are on the Leal’s. (D)

DAY 2 - BOARDING POLARFRONT

January 16

Morning workshop to maximise your photo adventures to come. Lots of great information, example images and quality question time. Our ship, The Polarfront, is exclusive for our group only - Amazing! Boarding takes place late in the afternoon today and the ship departs during dinner time. Be prepared for cold but rewarding days with a good chance for seeing whales, orcas and northern lights. The scenery is spectacular from the beginning to the end, so have your camera out and be on deck, rugged up. (B,L,D)
