Birds & Nature Photography Workshop

We will specially target unique field techniques and outstanding processing and theory in the comfort of our beautiful multi award winning lodge. Subjects include spectacular birds, frogs, forest scenes, grand landscapes and unique creative patterns and shapes. Explore diverse environments while receiving valuable photography tips, enhancing your skills to achieve your photographic goals. Darran, who has extensively explored and lived in key locations in the region for extended periods, will provide you with optimal timing and insights. DAY 1 - Monday

November 24

Services for the workshop commence today. Please ensure you arrive by 2 PM or earlier. Be aware that rooms may not be available until 2 PM. Please book into your room.

Join your tutors for an afternoon workshop starting at 3 PM. This is a great opportunity to ask questions and address any technical or equipment concerns. Your exceptional tutors will provide valuable tips and technical insights.

In the evening, enjoy an exclusive dinner at one of Australia’s premier resorts, which is also home to an award-winning winery. Drinks are on us! Following dinner, one of your tutors will present a brief audio-visual presentation. (D)

DAY 2 - Tuesday

November 25

We will set out early to capture the stunning morning light. If you’ve never photographed birds before, you’re in for a treat as you’ll encounter some of the most incredible avian species on the planet. Your guides will assist you in capturing not just traditional images, but also provide advanced creative techniques for those eager to explore. And all of this is before breakfast!

After breakfast, we’ll take a walk along the Wishing Tree Track to apply the theory learned the previous day. Understanding light and maximising your equipment will be the central focus. Your tutors will share valuable techniques to enhance your photography skills.

In the afternoon, we will hold a workshop focused on visualising and processing your images. Of course a late light shoot is a must do! In the evening, enjoy a group dinner where you can share experiences and swap entertaining stories. (B,D)
