MEET PEARCE

Photographer/guide

Pearce Leal (1993) is a photographer based in Naarm. He approaches photography with a focus on the subtle interrelationships between humanity and fragile ecosystems. Utilising traditional documentary methods, archival imagery, and physical interventions on photographs, his work invites viewers to reflect on their perceptions of ecologies and encourages contemplation of the balance between human actions and the natural world we share.

In 2019 he received Perth Centre for Photography's Clip Award, selected by curatorial judge Monica Allende. His most recent solo show, A Field Guide to Seeing New Land was exhibited at TSC_Windows in Sydney, 2020. In late December 2020, ACB Press published A Field Guide to Seeing New Land.
